Title: Remote Monitoring Solutions for
1Remote Monitoring Solutionsfor
- Significant Industrial Users
2The Problem
Grease is the 1 cause of SSOs in the United
States, costing taxpayers 25 billion/year for
clean up.
- Grease is hydrophobic-clings to objects free of
water. - Sewer systems are antiquated, 75 work on 50
capacity. - Grease is responsible for 40-50 of sanitary and
combined sewer overflows. - Grease overflows are costly and hazardous to the
city and the facility. - Current grease interceptor enforcement programs
are hazardous, ineffective on the whole and
expensive. - Food service facilities continue to grow (407
billion in sales 2002). - Cost of keeping sewers open exceeds 25 billion
annually. - Pre treatment plants are refusing grease land
applied grease programs are limited.

11The Benefits Industrial Users
- Prevent system failures, avoid costly fines,
downtime, and negative publicity. - Save money by servicing wastewater systems as
needed not according to an arbitrary schedule - Proof of performance when tanks are serviced
- Keep track of tanks that are not easily accessed
or cannot be accessed during normal business
hours. - Ensure that kitchen staff use best management
practices for waste disposal - around the clock - Document regulatory compliance at less cost
automated data collection minimizes the time,
effort, and cost of self-monitoring. Moreover,
the data is accurate and timely.
Automated monitoring of grease interceptors is
the best, most cost-effective insurance against
backups and overflows.
