  • Directions

  • Slide 2 shows a floor plan of your classroom.
  • Slide 3 inventories your furniture.
  • Click on Slide 3. Select a piece of furniture and
    copy (Ctrl-C).
  • Click back to Slide 2. Paste your furniture
    (Ctrl-V).
  • Drag your furniture around to place it according
    to what youve learned about good classroom
    computer placement.

  • How will you design your classroom computer
    center?
  • I included much of what I would add in the
    design of my classroom. I set up my computer
    center, my projection cart, my television, and
    also a special media center where students may
    listen to stories or songs. I would have liked
    to include a Smart Board, however, I did not do
    so because most schools would not have this
    technology available in their classrooms.
  • Before a teacher may setup his or her
    classroom, he or she must keep a few things in
    mind. For example, they must be aware of how
    many computers will be issued to them if three
    or less, a teacher should set these up for the
    students and not set one aside for his or
    herself. This will give students the impression
    that the computers are there for their use.
    Also, the teacher should know what additional
    technology resources will be available to them.
    If these resources are limited, the teacher
    should be prepared to look for substitutes.
