    cities. Housing there is very expensive.
  • In July 2007 the population was 82,400,99
  • Religions in Germany 34 Protestant, 34 Roman
    Catholic, 3.7 Muslim, and 28.3 other.
  • A national holiday in Germany is Unity Day. Unity
    Day I on October third. The holiday started in
    1990.

  • In Germany, people are building coal-fired power
    plants. These power plants are one of the biggest
    producers of green house gases.

Physical Geography and Climate
  • Germany is 137,838 square miles.
  • The Black Forest is a forest of thick fir trees
    in a mountainous area. This place is the setting
    for many German folk tales.
  • Zugspitze is the highest mountain in the Bavarian
    Alps. This mountain is located in Germany.
  • The climate in Germany is mild.
  • The northern part of Germany is flat land and
    heavily farmed.
  • In southern Germany summers are warmer and
    winters are colder and mountain caps are usually
    snowcapped all winter. In northern Germany there
    are winter fogs and there are cloudy days.
  • Moderate rainfall throughout the country in all
    of the seasons.
