  • Most people start smoking when they are teens.
  • Teens start smoking for 3 main reasons.
  • To look mature
  • To be like their friends
  • And to experiment

  • They may have a lot of stress and pressures.
  • They could be unemployed.
  • They may be homeless.
  • They could be in bad marriages or relationships.

  • The addiction to cigarettes is caused by a
    chemical called nicotine, which is both a
    stimulant and a depressant.

    stimulant.
  • This makes the body feel more alert and awake.
  • And then by causing depression and fatigue as a
    depressant.

    function and reduces oxygen available for muscles
    used in sports and other activities.

    which can cause Cancer and other illnesses such
    as Emphysema.

    that are direct causes of lung cancer in humans.
