Jesus Promised to Build His Church

• Repent ye for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand
  (Matt. 32)
• And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the
  Christ, the Son of the living God.  And Jesus
  answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou,
  Simon Barjona for flesh and blood hath not
  revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in
  heaven.  And I say also unto thee, That thou art
  Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church
  and the gates of hell shall not prevail against
  it.  (Matt 1616 - 18 KJV)

The Promise Fulfilled

• Establishment of the church recorded (Acts 2)
• Established on Pentecost (Acts 21)
• This was about 33 A.D.
• This was after the ascension of Jesus
• Repent and be baptized every one of you in the
  name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins
• Those that received this word were baptized
• Same day 3,000 souls added unto them (41)
• Unto who?
• The Lord added to the church those saved (47)

The Church is Those Who Are Saved

• The Lord added to the church daily such as
  should be saved (Acts 247)
• The church was purchased with the blood of
  Christeach saved by his blood. (Acts 2028)
• Christ gave Himself for the church (Eph. 525)
• That He might sanctify and cleanse it
• It is cleansed with the washing of water
• Thus it is holy and without blemish

Who is Its Founder?

• And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter,
  and upon this rock I will build my church and
  the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Where is Its Headquarters?

• Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him
  from the dead, and set him at his own right hand
  in the heavenly places,  Far above all
  principality, and power, and might, and dominion,
  and every name that is named, not only in this
  world, but also in that which is to come 
  (Eph. 120-22)

Who is Its Head?

• And hath put all things under his feet, and
  gave him to be the head over all things to the
  church,  (Eph. 122)

Who Has All Power Over It?

• Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All
  power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 
  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing
  them in the name of the Father, and of the Son,
  and of the Holy Ghost  Matt 2818 - 19

What is Its Only Creed?

• All scripture is given by inspiration of God,
  and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
  correction, for instruction in righteousness 
  That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly
  furnished unto all good works. 2 Tim
  316 - 17 (KJV)

The Church Jesus Built Exists Today

• Jesus made two promises in Matt. 1618
• I will build my church
• The gates of Hell shall not prevail against it
• Could He be the Son of God and fail in either
  promise?
• All who are saved today are added to His church
• Repent and be baptized for the remission of
  your sins (Acts 238)
