3RFPLaw Enforcement for Youth
- Grants are made available to at-risk, low income,
and medically challenged youth and programs that
serve them. - Individuals can apply for mini grants to assist
in the expense of participation fees for youth
activities and youth organizations can apply for
project grants to aid in specific youth programs. - Law Enforcement for Youth grant programs provide
two types of grants - We provide up to 100 twice annually to a
qualifying individual youth. These "mini-grants"
are provided to assist youth in covering expenses
associated with participating in quality youth
programs. - Project grants provide assistance to
organizations that provide positive programs to
qualified youth. Funds must be distributed
directly to the organization and may not be
provided directly to the youth or other
individual. Project grants can be up to
1,500.00. - Eligibility
- Organization must serve youth that are low income
as outlined in the current year HUD housing very
low income guidelines, considered at-risk by a
determination of the board, or have a documented
significant medical condition - Youth served must be 17 years old or less. If the
organization served both qualified and
un-qualified youth, the organization must show
proof of the percentage of qualified youth served
by their program. - Funds must be used for the purpose outlined by
the application submitted. - Must not have received an L.E.Y. project grant
within the previous 12 months.

Warriors Boxing Club 1,500 for new equipment,
uniforms, and travel funds.

- Warriors Club operates in one of the highest
juvenile probation referral rates in the state of
Texas - Predominantly Hispanic neighborhood and dominated
by crime, drugs, gangs and single parent homes.
They live at or below the poverty line. (Have
asked client if they meet HUD standards defined
on website) (low income / at risk hot buttons) - The Warriors place youth at risk for gangs,
drugs, etc. as high priority and also implement a
no pass no play rule so place education a
priority as well. They will arrange tutoring
when necessary (Youth athletic program /retired
