What is a template?

• A shell, a model that defines the layout
  commonalities of an object, project, or document.
• Here is an easy way to remember what a template
  is.

• A file that defines the layout, attributes, and
  common text of a document.

  settings, specific settings, specific text,
  pictures, headings, and so forth

• Huge Time-Saver for teachers.
• Motivates, inspires ideas, and makes integration
  of technology quick easy for busy teachers
• Great way to introduce technology projects to
  Techno-phobes!
• Increases exposure of new software applications
  to students teachers.
• Easy adaptations for struggling students and/or
  special needs students in your classroom.

• Open a copy of the template.
• Make any changes that may be required for the
  assignment.
• Under file, choose Save As.

• In Word, the Save
• As window will
• Appear.
• Click on Save as
• type and a drop
• Down window will
• Appear.
• Choose Document
• Template .
• Then click Save

• Protects the original template from any changes
  that you make.
• Saves your changes as a separate document.

How to use an Inspiration Template

• Example
• In Inspiration Software
• Go to File, Choose templates
• Find the template that you want to customize for
  your lesson.
• Modify the clip art, font size style, create
  links
• add directions for the student to follow.
• Under File, choose Save As .
