The Product

• Requires A learning stretch
• Student selected, designed and developed
• Reflects a minimum of 15 hours of work
• Must be documented
• Monitored by the Graduation Project Mentor
• Mentor is not responsible for the project success

Graduation Project Mentors

• Someone from the community
• Be 21 years of age
• Not living under the same roof as the mentee
• Has knowledge of the product topic

What Does A Mentor Do?

• Advise the student as he/she develops his product
• Maintain contact at regular intervals
• Phone, e-mail, or in person
• Document progress on mentor forms
• Time commitment 3 to 15 hours

How To Become A MentorMatch/ Train/ Check

• Complete the Mentor Agreement Form
• Be matched to a Mentee
• Attend Graduation Project Mentor Training
• Have a Background Check (GCS requirement)

Mentor Guidelines

• Maintain professional relationship at all times
• Meet in public places and open spaces with third
  party access
• Do NOT transport your mentee in vehicles
• After every personal contact make an entry on the
  Project Mentor Log
• Notify the students Graduation Project Advisor
  with any concerns or questions

Money

• Product will be evaluated on its authenticity and
  evidence of student learning, not on the amount
  of money spent
• Mentors are not expected to provide funds for the
  product
• Gifts are discouraged
