Title: BE THE CHURCH

1
BE THE CHURCH
  • PUTTING FEET TO YOUR FAITH

2
I. The Power Of Influence.
  • Matthew 513-16 You are the salt of the earth.
But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it
be made salty again? It is no longer good for
anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by
men. You are the light of the world. A city on a
hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a
lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it
on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in
the house. In the same way, let your light shine
before men, that they may see your good deeds and
    praise your Father in heaven.

3
A. What We Are
  • Matthew 513 "You are the salt of the earth."

4
B. What We Do
  • It Adds Flavor.
  • It Makes You Thirsty.
  • It Preserves Life.

5
C. What We Represent.
  • Matthew 514 "You are the light of the world."
  • Christ's work always has to do with both doing
and Speaking, with living and teaching.

6
II. The Power Of Interaction.
  • Luke 527-32 After this, Jesus went out and saw
a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at
his tax booth. "Follow me," Jesus said to him,
and Levi got up, left everything and followed
him. Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at
his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors
and others were eating with them.

7
But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who
belonged to their sect complained to his
disciples, "Why do you eat and drink with tax
collectors and sinners'?" Jesus answered them,
"It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the
sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but
sinners to repentance.

A. Reach Out To Those You Love
  • John 140-42 Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, was
one of the two who heard what John had said and
who had followed Jesus. The first thing Andrew
did was to find his brother Simon and tell him,
We have found the Messiah (that is, the
Christ). And he brought him to Jesus.

9
B. Reach Out To Those Who Need His Love
  • Rom. 1013-15 ...Everyone who calls on the name
of the Lord will be saved. How, then, can they
call on the one they have not believed in? And
how can they believe in the one of whom they have
not heard? And how can they hear without someone
preaching to them? And how can they preach unless
they are sent? As it is written, How beautiful
are the feet of those who bring good news!
