Goals of the CWC

• Main Goal
• Educate our audiences on the fundamentals of
  personal finance.
• Secondary Goals
• Encourage audiences to make informed decisions
• Give them the tools to succeed in the financial
  world

Personal Finance Workshops

• Keys to success when giving a workshop
• Have confidence you have all been trained on
  the concepts of personal finance. You all know
  what you are talking about.
• Engage the audience the best way to keep an
  audience paying attention is by making them a
  part of the presentation.
• Personalize your workshop Add something to your
  workshop to make it yours. Tell a personal story,
  ask questions, tell a story, etc.

• Content of the workshop
• Have you prepared a lesson plan for your
  workshop?
• Have you prepared all needed visual
  aides/overheads for your workshop?
• Have you prepared vignettes or specific examples
  that your participants will be able to relate to?
• Have you practiced your presentation?
• qDo any of the participants have special needs
  (e.g. wheelchair access, hearing aids, special
  support for learning disabilities? Do you have
  support material in the language of the target
  audience?

• Do you have a participant sign-in sheet?
• Do you have the discussion questions pre-written
  on a flip-chart or blackboard?
• Have you brought your Instruction Guide and
  participant workbooks?
• Do you have all your teaching materials?
• Have you visited the facility where you are going
  to be presenting and made sure that it meets all
  your presentation needs? Are there tables and
  enough chairs for people? Is there a station to
  install the laptop and projector with a close
  electric connection for the equipment?

• Basic Elements for Success
• Have you arranged for refreshments?
• Have you advertised the event properly with
  flyers in the community, with personal
  invitations and phone calls to community leaders
  or advertisements on the communitys printed
  press?
• Have you sent reminders/flyers to potential
  participants?
• Do you have ready (i.e. washed and ironed) the
  proper CWC attire for the presentation?
• Dont forget to wear your positive attitude also
