  • Shooting Process

3
Metering Modes
  • Each camera has a meter and measures the light
that is being reflected at it.
  • Each meter assumes the light coming in is 75
gray which can cause a lot of issues
  • There are 3 metering modes
  • Matrix
  • Center weighted
  • Spot metering

4
Matrix Metering
  • All portions of the frame will receive an equal
    weight.
  • All light is accounted for

5
Center Weighted
  • More emphasis is placed on the center of the
    frame.
  • 25 surrounding area
  • 75 is from that small area in the center

6
Spot Metering
  • 100 of the light will be taken from the center.
  • Only that object/subject will have the correct
    exposure.

7
Blinkies
  • It shows on the LCD screen as flashing portions.
  • This shows areas that are blown out (have no
    data)
  • Always expose in digital for the highlights

8
Histogram
  • It is a graph showing the amount of lights to
    darks
  • Can be used to help find exposure
  • There is no perfect histogram or a standard shape
  • The left shows the blacks
  • The right shows the whites
