Title: BBC News Day

1
BBC News Day
  • Eltham Hill Technology College
  • 22nd March 2007

2
The Process
  • We worked in teams to produce short bulletins
    using video
  • Take one!
  • Take two!
  • Take three!
  • Then we watched back our videos on the Smartboard
so that we could evaluate what we had done.

3
What happened next?
  • Bernie Caffery from the BBC came in and we had a
mini News session. We worked for two hours to
produce a bulletin based on the News that day.
  • Thirty students took part and produced Local,
    National and International News.

4
Using Movie-Maker
  • After this, we produced short bulletins using
    Movie-Maker.
  • We managed to get hold of some head-sets so that
we could record voice-overs onto our films. We
all made one bulletin on film or Movie-Maker
    about Junk Food.
  • Loving that look!

5
Editing Movies
  • We allowed ourselves three hours to edit the
    movies with the outside broadcasts.
  • The out-takes were so funny and I particularly
    enjoyed the singing intros!
  • And even when you forgot your words, you didnt
give up! Never give up! Even on the live news,
the broadcasters have to carry on, whatever
    happens

6
Who took part?
  • Sixty students took part we all made one
    bulletin
  • On the 22nd of March, there will be one day of
    activities with thirty-eight students
  • There will also be students here from Kidbrooke
    School
  • We will produce one video broadcast and front
    page News!
  • Fingers crossed!
