  • Creative Disruption, is a new paradigm that can
    ignite an innovation renaissance throughout your
    value network. It is a proactive approach to
    exploring and exploiting opportunities for
    growth, development, and productivity in your
    internal and external value creating activities,
    relationships, and interactions.
  • Embracing a philosophy of creative disruption in
    an organization innovation life cycle provides a
    context for understanding how firms increase
    their value from shorter niche markets to
    sustainable competitive advantage. We explain
    how to avoid competive chasms in your innovation
    life cycle that result from technological and
    market discontinuity.
  • We introduce the concept of innovation calculus
    to help quantify the return on investment,
    particularly the marginal value between radical
    and incremental innovation. This helps managers
    make difficult decisions on allocating resources
    to competing opportunities as well as timing of
    investments based on the rate of growth and
    inflection points of the innovation life cycle.
  • Borrowing an organic metaphor we illustrate an
    innovation ecosystem to explain how to create an
    effective innovation system and nurtures an
    innovation culture. As an analogy we extract
    knowledge from the rich soil through a diverse
    root system that absorbs information. We
    introduce the concept of dynamic knowledge that
    identifies changing phenomena in multiple
    environments, that has high probability of
    occurring and relevance to an organizations
    strategic goals.

    between the role of victor or victim. In this
    hypercompetitive and disruptive period in
    history, you either accelerate your innovation
    life cycle in all of your value networks or you
    become the victim of a the competitive chasm.

Innovation in your Value Network 
  • In the global knowledge economy the emphasis has
    shifted from the production-based supply chain to
    a broader value chain perspective. But the value
    chain is predominately an organizational view of
    value creation through primary activities and
    secondary activities, and does not consider
    external relationships.
  • The value network is a holistic view of your
    environment as complex interdependencies in an
    emergent and dynamic system of multi-functional
    and multilevel interactions of activities and
    resources.
  • The value network perspective helps manager find
    opportunities to add value from innovating
    interactions with customers, supplier,
    complimentary vendors, intermediaries and other
    external stakeholders in addition to the
    traditional function of the internally-focused
    value chain.
