7 Creative Places to Hide Your Valuables
2
  • Before you start reading this article, its
important to understand that a high security safe
is absolutely the most secure place in your home
to hide valuables. This is undisputed, and if you
have items of monetary or sentimental that you
need to keep protected, talk to a local safe
specialist about buying a safe that will protect
    them from fire and theft.
  • However, if you already have a safe and its
full, here are 7 sneakily creative places within
your home that you could hide items of value from
    burglars

3
  • 1. Large spice containers
  • Hiding rolls of money or any other smaller
valuables inside a large, Costco sized spice
container right alongside your other herbs and
spices is a great way to foil even the canniest
    of burglars.
  • 2. Inside an old pair of shoes
  • Rolls of bills can easily be stashed inside an
old shoe, but just in case the shoe gets picked
up and thrown about at any point, youll want to
store only silent items inside them, and not
    something that might rattle.

  • 3.Fake vent
  • Fake vents are a little bit pricey, but if you
want a creative hiding space that looks real, but
cannot possibly be opened, then these more than
    fit the bill.
  • 4. A hollowed out book
  • You can find many hollowed out books on the
market today, but its important to choose a book
that looks genuine sitting on your shelf,
otherwise it may stick out as unusual, and
encourage a thief to open it up and look inside.
Cash or smaller items of value can easily be kept
    inside.

5
  • 5. An old paint can
  • Many homeowners have old or semi-used cans of
paint lying around the home or garage, and these
can be a very convincing place to stash anything
smaller that you want to keep safe and hidden
from burglars. Just be sure to place the item(s)
inside a zipped baggie to protect it while inside
    the can.
  • 6. Beneath a house plant
  • If you have a large house plant in a sturdy pot,
you could wrap your booty in a zipped baggy and
bury it deep inside the soil for a hiding place
that few would even think to look for.

6
  • 7. In fake plumbing
  • Because PVC is easy to take down and take apart,
you can simply take a PVC pipe and attach it to
an existing pipe to give you an excellent hidey
hole for cash or other smaller valuables.
  • If you have a lot of valuables that wont fit
inside your existing safe, the best solution is
to either invest in a bigger safe (and sell your
smaller one), or purchase a secondary one.
Creative hiding places can be effective, but are
always a slightly risky solution. Dont forget
that items not secured in a safe may also not be
    insured.
