GENERAL INFORMATION

• a medium-sized town
• it is situated in the south-eastern part of
  Moravia, in the Slovácko micro-region
• it extends from the White Carpathians to the
  fertile lowlands of the lower flow of the River
  Morava
• in the west, it is demarcated by the Chriby Hills
• it is situated in Hodonín District
• it lies 176 metres above sea level and its land
  area is 3,569 hectares

HISTORY

• a settlement situated on the left bank of the
  river Morava
• in the 11th Century, it was one of frontier
  Hungarian fortresses
• the first owner of Veselí was Sudomír
• then, Veselí was owned by Sudomírs children
• then, the owner wasnt known for several years
• in the first half of the 14th Century, Veselí was
  owned by Vartemberk
• in the second half of the 14th Century, the
  temberks founded their own town
• Hynek Bilík z Kornic was a key figure in
  developing the domain
• in 1535, the castle was rebuilt into the Zámek
• in the 17th Century, there were conflicts about
  the ownership of the domain of Veselí between
  Tomá Bosnyák from Magyarbelu, Mikulá Pazmáne
  from Panas a Rottala
• Chorintí from Ledská inherited the domain after
  the death of the electí Family in 1731
• the last of their lineage left the Zámek in April
  1945
• Milokot and Zarazice became parts of our town in
  1950 and 1954

• children can also learn painting, drawing,

• The unemployment rate
• it is lower than that of the rest of the district
• in comparison with the republic average, it is
  higher
• unemployment has been about 14 15 in the last
  three years
• Industry
• Veselí nad Moravou is an important transport
  junction
• it is a town with a well developed industry base
• the biggest factory used to be the elezárny
  Veselí. The other factory is Albex.
• Agriculture
• our town is surrounded by fertile fields
• The employment perspective
• agriculture has no sense for this region
• industry is in a little better situation. There
  are some companies which can give jobs to many
  people. The best-known is elezárny Veselí and
  Eurotec.
• Public services
• it include the Municipal Authority, the police
  station, one post office and two banks

• the Kulturní dum - Community Centre
• it is equipped theatrical performances, training
  courses, language courses, concerts, dances,
  balls, fashion shows
• and so on
• the Public Library
• it is also located in the Community Centre
• it is divided into two parts. The fisrt one is
  for children
• and the second one is for adults

• The town has several sports facilities
• a football stadium
• tennis courts in the park
• a swimming pool
• nearby to Veselí there are gravel pits which have
  been recultivated for open-air bathing
