• St. John church is the grave memorial of Lord
  Elgin who was the Governor-General Viceroy of
  India in 1861 during the British Raj. He died in
  this land of Dharamshala and the memory of her
  husband, his wife Lady Elgin donated pretty glass
  windows depicting Jesus and John the Baptist.
• This Anglican church is the one that survived the
  earthquake in the year 1905. Though many people
  in Dharamshala got destroyed, only the bell tower
  got damaged. Thus, the bell tower and spire was
