• Key ideas
• With multiple binding of COA, we can use multiple
  paths in the connection.
• Two ways to utilize the advantage
• XCAST gets the max bandwidth of all and
  increases the robustness.
• Multiple unicast gets the summation of all
  bandwidth but does not increase the robustness.
• Common advantage avoid blackout time in handoff.

• XCAST with multiple binding
• very similar to streaming media techniques we
  discussed in the handoff slides.
• Advantages
• More robust to errors
• Higher throughput

• Multiple unicast
• Using each unicast session to transmit part of
  the whole traffic in a weighted round robin
  fashion
• weight is the estimated bandwidth through that
  specific path.
• May be better for data transmission because
  though fluctuation of transmission rate is still
  high, we dont have blackout periods.
