upon the natural world of which is it a part
  • includes impacts to nature, non human species,
the planet, earth sciences, and the biosphere
  • emphasizes on the ecosystem as the starting point
    for economics

3
What is a green economy?
  • based on three theories
  • it is impossible to expand forever into a finite
    space
  • it is impossible to take forever from finite
    resources
  • everything on the surface of the Earth is
    interconnected

4
Green economy principles
  • It is impossible to expand forever into a finite
    space.
  • It is impossible to take forever from a finite
    resource.
  • Everything on the surface of the Earth is
    interconnected.

5
How would you design a green business model?
  • the working space is very important to sustaining
    a green business
  • the building should be designed with the green
    economy in mind
  • Co-generation, paperless office practices

6
How would you design a green business model?
  • green buildings cost more during the
construction process, but are cheaper to operate
  • designers and architects now have the means to
construct an energy efficient building, which
    allows for savings in equipment

7
How would you design a green business model?
  • green buildings minimize waste and conserve
    energy
  • recycling and minimizing paper waste help sustain

    and poison the water

Are green business models successful?
  • Green is in fashion

What is the overall health benefit from a green
economy?
  • A green economy will help ensure
  • taxation and regulation
  • discourage pollution
  • wasteful use or overuse of finite resources is
