5HEV 246 Computer-Aided Design for Apparel
- Development and production of textile and apparel
designs and patterns via selected computer
software packages. Implications for use in the
apparel industry.
Winter Wonderland
This project included designing a line of girls
clothing for the winter season. The project was
designed using both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe
Illustrator. It was finished in the Fall of 2006.

8Pattern Recreation and Pattern Creation
These projects required taking an existing fabric
and recreating the print in Adobe Illustrator,
and also drawing inspiration from a piece of art
and creating a print. These projects were
finished in the Fall of 2006.
9HEV 346 Advanced CAD for Apparel
- Apparel design and production techniques using
advanced computer systems and software. Portfolio
development and CAD related career exploration.
Fashion Figure Coloration Techniques
These projects were exercises in figure
coloration. The software used was U4ia. These
projects were finished in the Spring of 2008.

11Print Creation
This project involved creating motifs in U4ia and
using U4ia to create a repeat print from them.
This project was finished in the Spring of 2008.
12Print Recolor
This project involved taking one print and
producing four different colorways. U4ia was used
in this project. It was completed in the Spring
of 2008.
13Creating Plaids and Stripes
This project was to create a stripe and a plaid
in U4ia and also to apply a weave texture to the
plaid. It was finished in the Spring of 2008.
14Mapping Prints onto a Figure
This project included the prints made previously,
and using U4ia, mapped the prints onto a fashion
figure. This project was finished in the Spring
of 2008.
15Finished Redesign
This project involved using all the techniques
used previously to redesign a line drawing and to
map prints and plaids onto it. This project was
finished in the Spring of 2008.
16Apparel Website Design
This project involved creating a website using
Dreamweaver, and also U4ia to create a line to
feature on the site. This project was finished in
the Spring of 2008.
17HEV 241 Apparel Design Illustration
- Introduction to graphic skills involved in
drawing the fashion figure, garment sketching,
and rendering textures. Emphasis on portfolio
development for the apparel designer.
Line Development from Our Own Closet
This project involved choosing four or five
garments from our closet and mixing and matching
them to create these sketches. The sketches were
created using pencil. This project was completed
in the Spring of 2008.

19Mixed Media Illustration
This project required that the illustrations were
rendered with different medias. Colored pencil
and found materials were used in these sketches.

20HEV 547 Functional Apparel Design
- A systematic approach to apparel design
integrating knowledge of the needs and functions
of the wearer, the structural properties of
textiles and apparel design.
Using the Thermal Camera and Body Scanning
Technology
This project involved using the thermal camera to
test thermal properties of our bodies. The body
scanner was also used to demonstrate how the
technology is used. This project was completed in
the Spring of 2009.

22HEV 355 Textile Analysis
- Use of standardized testing in quality control of
textiles for end-use and serviceability.
Group Textile Analysis Project
The project on the fallowing slide involved
testing two fabrics, a cotton woven and a
polyester lining and then creating a data sheet
and research paper from the results.

Design
- A structured internship experience that fosters
transfer of knowledge and skill into competencies
required for successful performance in an apparel
merchandising or design career.

27ART 235 Logo and Identity Design
- A continuation of ART 135, with emphasis on
development of conceptualization and
visualization skills. The course focuses on
printed materials that apply to identity systems.
Personal Logo
This project involved creating a personal logo
for ourselves. Adobe Illustrator was used. This
project was finished in the Spring of 2009.

- A basic introduction to drawing media and
techniques, and an exploration of the concepts of
space and form in varied subject matters.
Still Life and the Jekyll and Hyde Self-Portrait
These projects involved setting up and drawing a
still life with pencil, and drawing a
self-portrait with chalk pastels that featured
two different sides of ourselves. These projects
were finished in the Summer of 2008.

35FAMD T-Shirt and Bag Design Contest
These designs are designs I created for the FAMD
t-shirt and bag design contest. My bag won and
was produced. This was completed in the Fall of
2007.
