2Overview of Canon mf 244dw
- Canon's imageClass MF264dw (199.99) is the
newest in a long line of monochrome all-in-one
laser printers designed for light- to medium-duty
printing and copying in a small or home office.
Printer has similar performance and capacity as
the Editors' Choice Canon imageClass MF269dw, but
it lacks features like an auto-duplexing
automatic document feeder (ADF) and fax
capabilities. If you don't need those extra
features, the MF264dw is a less expensive
alternative to the MF269dw and even the HP Envy
6055 All-in-One Printer is one of the best
printer - It's one of the top colour laser all-in-one
AirPrint printers on the market. We propose the
Canon ImageClass mf244dw if you're looking for a
low-cost colour laser printer for a small
workplace. It's a colour laser printer that can
print, copy, scan, fax, and fax from a computer.
This printer made use of practical and innovative
technologies, which set it apart from other
printers. Read the Canon ImageClass MF244DW
review for more information...
3Small Footprint and Feature-Rich
- MF264dw is the same size and somewhat slender
than MF269dw measuring 14 to 15.4 by 16 inches
(HWD) and weighs a total of one 27.3 pounds. The
Lexmark MB2236adw, a similarly equipped
monochrome AIO, is similar in size and girth,
whereas the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M148fdw is a bit
smaller and lighter. - The MF264dw's paper handling consists of a
250-sheet paper cassette and a one-sheet bypass
tray for printing envelopes, labels, and other
one-off documents that would otherwise require
you to empty and reconfigure the main cassette.
Lexmark's MB2236adw input paper capacity is the
same, as is the Canon MF264dw's, and the HP
M148fdw holds 260 sheets split between a
250-sheet main cassette and a 10-sheet override
tray.
4Making Connections
- Connectivity options on the MF264dw are more than
adequate. The standard interfaces include 100
Base-T Ethernet, Wi-Fi, connecting to a single PC
via USB 2.0, and Wi-Fi Direct. That last one lets
you connect your mobile devices to the printer
without either it or them being linked through a
router or an intermediary network. - Other mobile connectivity options include Apple
AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Mopria Print
Service, and Canon Print Business, which is a
free Android or iOS app that enables you to print
documents and photographs, upload to cloud
storage services, read scanned data, and more on
a Canon laser AIO or laser printer from your
Android and iPhone smartphones and tablets.
5Performance
- Canon rates 30 pages a minute for MF264dw. But,
like other business-oriented printers and AIOs,
the firm is designed to print two sides from the
box by default. - In the next phase of our test regimen, I timed
the MF264dw as it printed a collection of complex
Adobe Acrobat documents, Excel spreadsheets and
charts and graphs, as well as PowerPoint handouts
containing several different types of business
graphics. Then, I combined those scores with the
results from printing the 12-page text document
in the previous test and came up with a score of
17.2ppm for reproducing our entire suite of test
documents. That score either tied or fell
slightly behind all of the competitors mentioned
here.
6Quality Output
- There's nothing exceptional about the print
quality of the MF264dw when monochrome Canon
printers are in use. The lettering was crisp,
well-fashioned and readable in my test papers at
tiny sizes, and the visual was detailed and
beautiful, with no obvious difficulties with the
toner dispersion. In other words, for the
majority of internal business environments and
for many external circulation situations, the
output was better than acceptable. - Grayscale photograph output wasn't bad, either,
at least up to newspaper print quality. Overall,
I have no complaints about the MF264dw's print
quality, and the HP Officejet 200 Mobile Inkjet
Printer and the Epson Ecotank et-2720
All-in-One Wireless Inkjet Printer both are
better option if you dont want to buy the Canon
mf244dw.
7Run-of-the-Mill Running Costs
- As with other single laser printers at this
price, the continuous run-time cost of MF264dw's
printing and copy volume of around 100 to 200
pages is approx. 3.5 cents per page. However, the
more you print, the less economic expenditure you
produce each page. - However, you may keep your continuing
expenditures with the Epson WF-M5799 inkjet
variant if your application does not require
Laser Output. Its cost per page is less than 1
centimetre per page while selecting its highest
ink containers (40,000 pages).
8The Right Machine for the Right Job
- Typical for printing and copying of text, such as
in-house reporting, external quotation, receipts,
and bills, are these little monochrome printers.
They are not frequently required to churn
marketing materials out. Canon and its
competitors go a long way to adapt their
equipment to certain circumstances. - The company doesn't envision the buyer of the
MF264dw, for example, scanning or copying many
two-sided multi page documents or sending faxes.
If you do need those functions, it's worth
spending 80 more on the Editors' Choice Canon
MF269dw (299.00 at Best Buy) . Otherwise, the
MF264dw is a solid and more affordable pick.
