- Developed survey to determine the highest ranked
College website at ISU - Administered survey to students, faculty, staff,
and alumni - Consolidated results to determine how each
College ranked
3Purpose of Survey
- Overall purpose to understand the important
elements of website interface design and use that
understanding to evaluate the different College
websites - College websites used daily by wide variety of
users - Users have their own needs from website
- Internet important source of information and
recreation, so need a website that provides the
information the users want

- 298 people participated
- 56 electronically
- 242 on paper forms
- 1248 total responses
- Developed spreadsheet in MS Excel to aid in
consolidation

- Illustrates the various user groups a College
website may have. - Significant differences in user preferences are
important for Colleges to consider when designing
their websites. - How a College is ranked shows how a user group
interprets the site and how well it meets their
needs. - It is important to make ensure that the site is
attracting and retaining the targeted user group.

- Find an appropriate mix of multimedia and
relevant, appropriate information - Site should be visually appealing
- Website should be organized, concise, and easy to
navigate - College websites should have different pages to
address the needs of each user group
