What is Computer Engineering

• COE encompasses broad areas of both electrical
  engineering and computer science but it is a
  field of its own.
• Computer engineers have training in the areas of
  hardware design, software design and
  hardware-software integration.
• They design high-tech devices ranging from tiny
  microelectronic integrated-circuit chips, to
  powerful systems that utilize those chips and
  efficient telecommunication systems that
  interconnect them.
• Understanding both the hardware and software of
  computers, enables computer engineers to solve
  computer-oriented problems more efficiently.
