in the Central Pacific Conservations Area on the

parks in Costa Rica. Manuel Antonio National Park
receives more than 1 million visitors annually

spread across the country making it a crown
jewel. It is probably one of the most
biologically intense places and home to some of
the largest valuable trees, diverse vegetation,
and the richest in biodiversity on this planet.
It remains largely popular with tropical
ecologists and is one of the best places where
you can spot some of the most unique animal
species. Corcovado National Park also conserves
the largest primary forest on the American
Pacific coastline. Corcovado National Park is one
of the few remaining sizeable areas which houses
lowland tropical forest in the world.
5Tortuguero National Park Location Tortuguero
National Park is located in Limon Province of
Costa Rica within the Tortuguero Conservation
Area, in the northeast of the city. This park is
accessible only with a boat or an airplane and is
one of the most visited parks in Costa Rica. It
is home to 11 different habitats and is also one
of the most diverse regions exhibiting a variety
of mangrove forests, swamps, beaches, lagoons,
etc. It receives up to 250 inches of rainfall
every year and is one of the most protected areas
among the Caribbean wetlands. In March 1991 it
was designated as a Ramsar Convention Site.
