Our Conclusions

• States appear to have little recourse in the face
  of globalization. Statism is becoming obsolete.
• What remains is culture groups, with the need to
  assert and defend their own values (nationalism).
• Left this way, conflicts over relative values are
  likely (mass, multi-cultural terrorism).
• Intercultural communication, for the purpose of
  mutual affirmation as culture groups, may suffice
  to avoid conflict.

• States exist for the purpose of garnering and
  maintaining power.
• As long as states exist, they will resist the
  diminution of that power, especially to culture
  groups.
• What is the appropriate way for culture groups to
  approach states regarding power?

• As long as there are other culture groups, they
  will assert and defend the values that identify
  them.
