Preliminary thoughts about SY 2008-09

• A tough year on several points dwindling
  enrollment, security and peace in the region,
  global financial meltdown, low economic activity
  in Western Mindanao
• Issues mainly externally driven but have deep
  consequences on our internal operation
• Main challenge converting issues to opportunities

• Biggest losers Grade School (from 1,869 to
  1,592 variance of 277 or -14.82)
• Most improved 1st sem enrollment Colleges (from
  3,317 to 3,433 variance of 116 or 3.49)
• Current 2nd sem enrollment figure is the lowest
  since SY 2003-04
• Forthcoming enrollment figure could be adversely
  affected.

• Fine tune leadership development program

  educational apostolate and the return of the
  Jesuits to Mindanao, and Centennial of AdZU) not
  for nostalgic recall of the past but primarily
  for institutional renewal (fire, friendship and
  frontier) to face the future.
