Title: Cabin Pillows and Lodge Pillows
1Cabin Pillows and Lodge Pillows
2The Fire Bear Throw Pillow
- This Mohegan Tribal Pattern tells the origin of
fire. Many years ago, fire belonged to the bears,
not to man. One day, the bears came across a
honey bee. So they put the fire down by the edge
of the forrest and chased the bee across the
meadow finding the bees' honey nestled in a tree.

3Two Wolves Throw Pillow
- This is an exquisite reproduction pattern of a
tribe known to trade in Upstate
NY British/Hessian territory in the 1700's. An
old woman of the tribe told us that the pattern
has two different sides, reflecting two wolves
who were brothers that fought until
exhaustion every night.
4The Red Corn Ceremony Throw Pillow
- This pattern is actually an oneida Indian
good-luck pattern that comes from the traditional
celebration of a healthy crop. During the Red
Corn Ceremony, fires were rekindled, huts
repaired and grudges were forgiven and life was
renewed with kindred spirit. Oneida tribes
sold these blankets and saddle rolls to British
soldiers in the pre-revolution era.
