  • Events Grants

Event Grant
  • Events held on or near UW campus for UW students.
  • In total 250,000. Usually receive anywhere from
    25-9,162. Average received 1,205
  • Must apply at least 6 weeks before event is to
    take place.
  • If grant is for 5000 or above, must get final
    approval from Student Council.

Travel Grants
  • Grant for travel to events or conferences. must
    be central to organizations purpose
  • Travel expenses that include travel, lodging
    and/or registration fees
  • In total 125,000 Usually receive anywhere from
    45-1,530. Average 480
  • Must apply at least 6 weeks in advance
  • If grant is over 6,250, must get final approval
    from the Student Council
  • Funds are limited-apply early!

Operations Grants
  • Grant for daily operations of Student
    Organizations
  • Used for printing, postage, office supplies etc.
  • Receive 180-2,600. Average 713
  • Deadline is March 1 for the following school year
    or until funds run out
  • Open to any Registered Student Organization

Open Fund
  • Can be used for
  • Student Print 100 max.
  • Office Supplies 50 max.
  • Postage,membership fees ads 100 max
  • Receive 200 maximum
  • Applications accepted until March 1 or when funds
    run out (as funds are allocated on a first come
    first serve basis
  • Only apply if you need the funding

Accommodations Grant
  • Grant designed to assist Student Orgs with
  • Interpreters
  • Captioning
  • Accessible Print Materials
  • Deadlines Rolling
  • ASM is currently updating this grant. Check the
    ASM website for more info.

Multi-Cultural Council
  • Grant to co-sponsor multicultural programs that
    enhance campus awareness of diversity
  • Requests that they are not the only source of
    funding
  • Proposals MUST be submitted at least 30 days
    before the program
  • Can request up to 50 of total budget
  • Typical grant amount 50-7,000

Wisconsin Union Directorate
  • Wisconsin Union Program Fund for Advancing
    Democratic Principles
  • Grant to support innovative campus programming
    that advances the pillars of democracy and social
    understanding.
  • objective of the program or event should be to
    encourage members of the campus community to
    become active participants in the democratic
    process.
  • Must be working through an Academic Department.
  • Application due 3 weeks prior to
  • the event date

Wisconsin Union Directorate
  • Late Night Funding
  • Grant to fund programs open to general UW
    community Thursday, Friday Saturday nights
    9pm-2am
  • Can be used for Entertainer fees, printing,
    food, etc.
  • Applications must be submitted 3 weeks prior to
    event
  • Rolling deadlines
  • Event Co-Sponsorship Specific committees decide
    amount allocated and degree of involvement.
    Contact the WUD committee related to your event.

Wisconsin Experience Grant
  • Grant to fund educational programs/events which
    are open to all students and have the potential
    for campus wide impact.
  • Funds will be administered by the Center for
    Leadership and Involvement.
  • Criteria, deadlines and application requirements

WAA WASB Sponsored Grants
  • Late Night Funding Mini Grant funds non-alcohol
    social programs, encourage events on Thurs, Fri
    and Sat night.
  • All Campus Party Event Grants funds events and
    programs implemented during ACP.
  • WAA Student Organization Event Grant funds
    events which connect to alumni in some capacity
    and promote an inclusive environment for the
    campus community.

    2009-2010 year.
  • Knapp Bequest Committee, Lectures Committee, UW
    System Institute on Race Ethnicity
    (Departmental Sponsorship Required)
  • Co-Sponsorship Opportunities with GSSF funded
    student groups.
