GOOD NEWS NOT GOOD NEWS

• It is our understanding that the funds for the
  pay raise will not be removed from our budget, so
  merit raises will go into effect January, 2009.
• There will be a reduction to the employer
  contribution rate for health insurance for the
  PPO and HMO plans from 75 to 70. The employer
  contribution rate for the Indemnity plan would
  remain at the PPO level.
• There will be a temporary, one-semester student
  fee of 100 at the research universities, 75 at
  the comprehensive universities, and 50 at the
  access institutions in order to maintain academic
  quality.

THE BUDGET CUT

• There is still a possibility that the
  USG-required budget reduction will go higher than
  8.
• Our plan is to reduce our budget by 9.
• It is strongly suggested that we remain prepared
  for a worst case scenario of 10.

GOALS FOR BUDGET ADJUSTMENT

• Sustain core mission of instruction of students
• Minimize long-term damage to CSU
• Maintain jobs
• Respond to the USGs requirements
• Support the States efforts to deal with the
  economic situation
