MidLincoln Research History

• 2009-2013 some rural investment banking ideas
  were tested in the automotive, consumer
  discretionary and fertilisers industries
• May 2013 launch of MidLincoln Research with 2
  business lines one focused on investment
  strategy and another one testing microcap
  deurbanisation ideas
• The name choice MidLincoln (abbreviated as ML)
  was inspired by the rural settings around
  Goryshkino village located west of Moscow which
  looked as empty, windy and free as Lincoln
  Nebraska. The idea was to launch an investment
  research business which is not run by smartly
  dressed analysts, but by village folks. The folks
  could be from any of the village or a small town
  around the world i.e. Odintsovo near Moscow from
  Lincoln in Nebraska, Nyahururu Kenya or in
  Boston in Lincolnshire
• Initial publications were a daily investment
  briefing and Notes From Midwest research notes
  and ideas
• Company was put on a tech footing after
  installation of research database server and
  business started heavily investing into research
  automation tools, some foundation artificial
  intelligence tools and bigdata (in a sense of
  gather lots of data).
• In 2014 a range of products was launched -
  Emerging Markets investment Strategy Monthly,
  Fund Flow product, Fixed Income product, ML
  Datamine - which served as a foundation for a
  launch of Quant platform, Country macro and
  politics coverage. ML starts to think global.
• In April 2014 MidLincoln rises small funding to
  invest into investment strategy research
  business. Vladimiris Rimasevskis becomes a
  limited partner in MidLincoln LLC, which was also
  incorporated in 2014.
• In 2015 Midlincoln developed index products,
  established cooperation with DaVinci Capital to
  launch first RTS Index tracking ETF and a number
  of wider GEM and Global ET products based on ML
  Indexes including Gosplan SOE Index
• Later in 2016 Quant products were developed and
  the cooperation with Verno Capital to employ
  quantamental portfolio management opportunities
  was established.
• In 2017 Midlincoln continued developing index
  products and provided research services to Moscow
  Exchange
• In 2018-2019 Midlincoln cooperated with various
  financial institutions to provide research in
  precious metals sector, blockchain equities
  platform and quantamental investment research
  and pension systems analysis.
• In the rural microcap merchant banking ideas
  space  MidLincoln continued to invest time and
  money into rural sports and entertainment
  business, rural transport and engineering
  solutions, rural consumer goods production and
  rural consumer discretionary sector ideas as well
  as ideas in the financial sector, local energy
  and utilities solutions, telecom and media ideas
  , ideas for local co-workings and industrial
  common grounds.
