Hollywood Arts Academy( Previous known as Lee
Music School ) was founded in 2009 by owner and
instructor Donna Lee. Lee Music School was active
till 2013 on 3815, E. Colorado Blvd, Pasadena.
The switch was made in 2013 from Lee Music School
to Hollywood Arts Academy. Hollywood Arts
Academys mission is to offer affordable private
piano lessons in Pasadena, San Gabriel, San
Marino, Altadena, El Monte, Arcadia and nearby
cities. We offer personalized one-on-one music
lessons at  2844, E. FootHill Blvd in Pasadena.
Hollywood Arts Academy helps students in
different musical styles classical, pop, jazz
and musical theatre.

PIANO LESSONS
Music theory is the study of the practices and
possibilities of music.
The term is used in three main ways in music,
though all three are interrelated. The first is
what is otherwise called rudiments, currently
taught as the elements of notation, of key
signatures, of time signatures, of rhythmic
notation, and so on.
Theory in this sense is treated as the necessary
preliminary to the study of harmony,
counterpoint, and form. The second is the study
of writings about music from ancient times
onwards. The third is an area of current
musicological study that seeks to define
processes and general principles in music a
sphere of research that can be distinguished from
analysis in that it takes as its starting-point
not the individual work or performance but the
fundamental materials from which it is built.

VIOLIN LESSONS
The Suzuki method is an internationally known
music curriculum teaching philosophy dating
from the mid-20th century, created by Japanese
violinist and pedagogue Shinichi Suzuki
(18981998).  The method aims to create an
environment for learning music which parallels
the linguistic environment of acquiring a native
language. Suzuki believed that this environment
would also help to foster good moral character.

VOICE LESSONS
 Singing there are four stages of breathing

• breathing-in period (inhalation)
• setting up controls period (suspension)
• controlled exhalation period (phonation)
• recovery period

All singing begins with breath. All vocal sounds
are created by vibrations in the larynx caused by
air from the lungs. Breathing in everyday life is
a subconscious bodily function which occurs
naturally, however the singer must have control
of the intake and exhalation of breath to achieve
maximum results from their voice.

SCHOOL POLICY
REGISTRATION
For piano
students, a registration fee of 50 will be
charged which will include a school bag, lesson
books and an assignment book. 2. For other
instruments, no registration fee will be charged
if they dont opt for any kind of material (
unless instructed by the teacher ).
LESSONS
1. We offer a first come,
first serve system for our music lessons. Your
requested time will be reserved based on
teachers availability. 2. Students can book
lessons on a pay as you go basis every month. We
allow students to book the whole semester as well
( 5 discount on semester booking). 3. If any
student discontinues or cancels the lesson,
he/she may or may not get the same spot while
resuming lessons.
LATENESS
1. If a student is late for
the lesson, the lesson will go as per the
schedule and the student will be billed for
the lesson time reserved. 2. Any lesson wont be
extended as all the teachers have fixed
schedule with other students as well.
INVOICES
1. Invoices are sent every
5th of the billing month and are paid in advance.
2. We allow parents to clear the current dues by
20th of the billing month. 3. A late payment fee
of 25 will be charged if the invoice isnt
paid by 20th of the current billing month. 4. Any
kind of invoice credit will be used in the next
billing month.
