  • There was a 1.17 population increase from 2006
    to 2007
  • UCR Shopliftings for all Circle K stores
    increased by 280 cases (or 48) from 2006 to
    2007.
  • UCR Shopliftings for all Walmart stores increased
    by 178 cases (or 89) from 2006 to 2007.

  • 2007 Highlights
  • 73 of the items taken in the vehicle burglaries
    were stereos and/or electronics.
  • September 2007 Meeting with Harkins management
    and nearby restaurants. Discussed a strategy to
    increase surveillance and security in parking
    lots.
  • Harkins has hired 2 off-duty officers for Friday
    and Saturday nights, and hired a security company
    to patrol the parking lots.
  • Vehicle security fliers have been posted at the
    businesses.
  • After changes were implemented, expected results
    for 2008 would be a reduction in vehicle
    burglaries by 76 from 2007.

  • Sergeant signature is not needed for warrant
    approval.
  • Utilize electronic file transfer when
    appropriate.
  • Detention supervisors permitted to complete
    booking checklist.
