EPC Certificates for energy conservation

Are you looking to get the grips with the rules
and regulations of Energy Performance and Display
Energy Certificates as it is a time consuming and
complicated business activity? The Business
energy certificates measure the energy usage of a
particular building. The certificates act as a
vital component for highlighting the energy
efficiency of a property, and offers support on
how improvements can be made to lessen a
building's energy consumption in the future. The
people have been always looking for what kind of
Business Energy Certificates exists and what are
the differences between them? The EPC acts as
great choice for most of them. There are two
kinds of business energy certificates as like
Performance Certificates (EPC) and Display Energy
Certificates (DEC). The difference between the
two is that, in England and Wales, EPCs cover
dwellings and commercial buildings, whereas DECs
apply to buildings occupied by public authorities
or buildings used to provide a public
services. The certificate is quite valid for ten
years time frame while DECs need to be renewed
annually. In Scotland EPCs are used to cover
public buildings as well as homes and commercial
buildings. In England and Wales, government
legislation states that all commercial buildings
that are put on the market for sale/rent as well
as all newly built commercial buildings require
an EPC. The Public buildings with a floor space
greater than 1000m2 require a DEC. DECs are
required irrespective of whether the building is
up for sale or rent. The commercial buildings of
more than 1,000 sq m will need an energy
performance certificate (EPC) whenever they are
constructed, sold or let.

There are various implications of this new
regulation which is part of the Energy
Performance of Building Directive which requires
all EU countries to establish minimum energy
performance standards for buildings. As per the
Government 50 per cent of the UK's energy
consumption arises from the country's 25 million
buildings. The Government supports the Kyoto
Protocol and so is committed to reducing energy
consumption. They have improved the energy
performance of our buildings and have
significantly helped the country achieve energy
objectives.
