Title: The Do's and Don'ts of Buying a House
1The Dos and Donts of Buying a House
2Buying a house is considered one of the most
stressful things a human can experience. But
dont worry because we have experts on hand to
help make this process as little of a dent in
your life as possible. Throughout this article,
we discuss the dos and donts for those buying a
house. Do research
When buying a home, the neighbourhood is
extremely im- portant, the surrounding schools,
shops and facilities play a huge role in picking
your forever home. You can speak to your estate
agent about this or simply check the local area
out on your computer. Not only do you need to do
research on the surrounding area but also on
the house you are looking at, for ex- ample
consider the history of the house, how long has
it been there? Has there been any fires? You need
to know these things and to find these out you
need to do research.
3Do identify your wants vs your needs Knowing
the difference between what you want and need is
extremely important, do you want an on-suite
bathroom or do you need one? Do you need that
large garden? Some of you are probably saying
yes to both of those questions and that might
be correct for you, however not everyone who is
moving is going to need a large garden, a large
garden is key for those with pets, and children.
However, dont just settle for some- thing you
wont be happy with, buying a house is one of the
most important decisions you must make in your
life, so dont settle for a house that isnt
quite right for you otherwise you will be
unhappy with it for years. You need to look for
that bal- ance between what you need and want,
for example you dont need a giant bathroom, yes
one would be nice but it isnt a ne- cessity for
most.
4Dont get attached
During the house buying process you are going to
view a lot of houses some you wont like at all
and others you will instantly fall in love with.
The first house you see for most is often on the
list of instant love connection, this can often
happen simply because it is the first house you
have looked at. There are too many factors in-
volved in finding the right house for you to be
listed, make sure you have a good look around and
that you dont make a huge mis- take.
Dont skip a home inspection
Never miss out on the opportunity for a home
inspection, home inspections are the perfect
opportunity for you to look around and for you
to know exactly what you are dipping your toes
into. Dur- ing the home inspection keep an eye
out for damages and make a mental tally and
costing price, if possible during the time check
lights, plug sockets and taps where possible to
ensure plumbing and electricals are all in
working condition. Home inspections can be the
tipping point towards buying a house or running
scared, never miss out on the opportunity to
step foot into your future home.
5Dont give up
Buying a home can be an extremely long process,
however ex- tremely rewarding in the end. Keep
searching for your forever home and dont settle
for a home you think is alright, yes this will
take a lot of time but in the end, you will be
over the moon and so happy you waited and kept
looking. That is just a few of the dos and donts
that we would recommend. Buying a house is a
long process that is very stress- ful in most
cases. If you find that the stress might be too
