An OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Apple
Part is the thing that find on original iPad,
iPhone and iPod. New Apple Parts are not
accessible to any buyers, merchant or repair
shop. Apple Inc. does not offer its parts to
wholesalers, sellers or to repair shop. Apple
does not really make any parts, they have certain
makers create them to Apple's visual,
specialized, and quality necessities. The best
way to get a real Apple OEM part is by pulling it
off of an iPad, iPhone, or iPod. Be careful with
repair organizations that claim "just they know"
where to get fresh out of the plastic new OEM
parts.Every single other part available that
are accessible are "Aftermarket parts".
Aftermarket parts are made by third-party
manufacturers that have positively no connection
with Apple, Inc. There are incalculable
quantities of third-party manufacturing that
deliver new parts for Apple gadgets. Among these
endless manufacturers, there is a wide range in
the nature of the parts that they are creating.
3
The vast majority of these manufacturers cut
expenses by delivering parts that might be like
OEM in appearance, yet could never meet the
specialized and quality prerequisites that Apple
requests from its own particular makers. This is
the manner by which most outsider makers can
offer such a minimal effort to wholesalers and
other repair shops. Not with standing, there are
a modest bunch of third-party manufacturers that
regardless of the higher cost, create superb
parts that would no doubt meet the same visual,
specialized, and quality prerequisites that Apple
requires from their own manufacturers. In the
event that put one next to the other, try not to
have the capacity to differentiate between an
astounding secondary selling part and an OEM
part. The easiest way to tell the difference
between an aftermarket or OEM screen is the
presence of third party stamps or stickers. If
there are third party stamps or stickers, this
will identify the screen as aftermarket.

1. OEM screens will have foam pads over the flex
cables while aftermarket screens will either have
no pads or poorly placed pads.2. OEM screens
will typically have an Apple Logo on one or both
flex cables while aftermarket screens typically
don't have a logo or the Apple logo is colored
over with a sharpie marker.3. The adhesive for
the proximity sensor's plastic holder is
generally stronger than the aftermarket adhesive,
therefore that piece typically falls off on
aftermarket screens.4. OEM screens use a
rectangular white film under the ambient light
sensor while aftermarket screens typically do
not.

5. The adhesive for the front camera's plastic
holder is generally stronger than the aftermarket
adhesive, therefore that piece typically falls
off on aftermarket screens. Also, the black OEM
screens will typically have a blue ring of
reflective coating where the front camera sits to
reduce haze aftermarket screens typically won't
include the haze protection.6. The glue/solder
attaching the backlight to the LCD is typically
somewhat clean on OEM screens. You will find on
aftermarket screens that there tends to be messy
glue spots on the backlight connection.7. Most
aftermarket screens will have a blacked out
serial number, if not their own serial number
printed.8. OEM screens will have a matte black
sticker placed in the top left corner while
aftermarket screens will have a glossy sticker or
no sticker.
6
OEM screens have an oleo phobic coating over the
front glass. This means that a drop of water will
bead up and stay as a bead when moved around the
screen. Aftermarket screens do not include that
coating so the water tends to leave a trail. At
