Buyers Guide To Baby's Cots and Cot Sets
2
One of the most important and possibly one of the
most expensive prices of furniture you will buy
to go in your baby room is a cot.  This is your
baby's first baby bedding sets and will be used
for around 2 years on average, so is worth
spending some time doing a little research before
you buy.  There are many different styles of
cots around today, all of which have their
advantages and disadvantages.  Below you will
find a brief summary of some of the most common
types of cots available and a little bit about
them.
3
Standard cot  Standard baby cot bedding sets
come with four fixed sides and slats.  They are
normally the least expensive form of cot
available and are easy to construct.  Generally
they are made of wood, including teak, pine, and
oak.  The main disadvantages of these types of
cot are that they lack many of the features of
other cots and they are not easily moved from one
area to another.
4
Convertible/Lifetime cot  These are designed to
last much longer than the 2 years traditional
cots are used for.  The good thing with these
types of cot is that they can grow with your
baby. They can literally be transformed from a
cot to a toddler bed to a single/double bed in a
matter of minutes.  Disadvantages of these types
of cot are that they are normally more expensive
than other models and the conversion kit has to
be stored away.
5
Portable cot  If space is an issue, you may want
to consider a portable cot as these are generally
much smaller in size and can easily be moved from
one room to another.  However, there are far less
designs to choose from with portable cots and the
mattress still needs to be stored even when the
crib is folded up.

Baby Cot SetsOnce you have your ideal cot in
mind, it is time to think about the cot set you
want to go with it.  Baby cot sets come in a
range of shapes, sizes, colors, patterns and
materials, and can be picked up relatively cheap
so may be worth investing in a few if you are
unsure what you want.  Also, pay close attention
to the material that the baby cot sheet is made
from to ensure your baby is comfortable at all
times.
7
Lightweight cotton baby cot bedding baby
nursery decor is good for warmer weather and
fleeced material baby cot bedding is better for
cooler temperatures.  Baby shops will vary in
what they offer as part of a cot set, so just
ensure that it has everything included that you
need it to and most of all ensure that it is the
correct size for the cot you have chosen.
