videos Ray Kurzweil on How Technology Will
Transform Us and Ray Kurzweil A University for
    the Coming Singularity. (Interactive transcripts
are also available on the TED web site.) Based on

than one listed, please submit it to your
instructor for approval. After selecting a theme,
begin brainstorming a plan on how to approach
this exercise publicly through this discussion

    processors, flash memory, optical processors,
    netbooks, BlackBerry, iPhone, iPod touch,
Microsoft Surface, open source Linux, Ubuntu,

learn about Creative Commons and Read/Write
Culture through the following three videos
  • A Shared Culture
  • Wanna Work Together?
  • Lawrence Lessig Re-examining the remix
  • You have seen how digital technology like YouTube
allows people to easily create mashups and
remixes - hybrid songs and/or videos through a
combination of pieces of many other songs and
videos and/or original content - which can
    violate copyright laws.
  • Do you think the law should allow these kinds

  • After reading Chapters 6-7 and then critically
thinking and reflecting on the information,
please select three of the questions below to
answer. Your responses should be a minimum of a
paragraph (125-175 words) per question, be
    grammatically correct, and demonstrate through
intelligent use of quotes, facts, and figures
that you have learned from the assigned chapters.
Searching for information on Google is like
trying to find a needle in a haystack. Is that
    true?

INF 103 Week 3 DQ 1 Ubiquitous Computing and Your
Privacy (Ash)
  • FOR MORE CLASSES VISIT
  • www.inf103mart.com
  •
  • Ubiquitous Computing and Your Privacy. MySpace,
Facebook, email, and collaborative sites for both
work and leisure are a norm on the net these
days. But did you know all of the content you
post on many of these sites immediately become
partially owned by the sites themselves? And,
taking items away by deleting them never really
gets rid of them. In fact, in Groundswell by
Bernoff and Li, they state that trying to take
something off the Internet that you have posted
is like trying to remove pee from a pool.

  • Possible Outcomes. Considering the applications
and convenience of artificial intelligence and
singularity which were included in the first
discussion, what are some the possible outcomes
both positive and negative which might arise from
these developments? Will we ever have to worry
about a malevolent computer like HAL from the
movie 2001 or V.I.K.I. from I, Robot? (Movie
information and synopses may be found on
    IMDB.com, or YouTube.com.)

  • The Research Paper and accompanying PowerPoint
slide show presentation should demonstrate an
understanding of the readings as well as the
implications of new knowledge. The five-to-seven
page paper should summarize the research you
found about your theme/topic while using the
    Microsoft Office applications, library databases,
and optional Jing or Prezi, to compile all of the
text and other objects you decide to include in
your paper (charts, clip-art, and other objects).
You may choose a topic, but it must be
researchable. Be sure to refer to Research
    Project Milestones in Weeks 1-4.
