3 Cut
The cut of a diamond implies both its shape and the brilliance (or sparkle) of the stone. A poorly cut diamond can make it appear lifeless or dull. Diamonds that are labeled "Ideal" will produce the most shine.
4 Clarity
Clarity refers to the amount of inclusions, or internal flaws, that a diamond has. Diamonds free from flaws are more expensive. A diamond with no inclusions visible to the unaided eye is usually the most desirable.
5 Color
It is no secret that a "colorless diamond" are the highest in value and generally more expensive. A colorless or near-colorless diamond that has no "noticeable" color, will be graded using the alphabet, and fall within the D-J range. Diamonds also come in various other colors than white or "clear" too.
6 Carat
Carat refers to the size of the diamond. Because smaller diamonds are more widely available than larger diamonds, the value of a diamond generally goes up when the carat weight does.
