A bank is a financial intermediary that creates
credit by lending money to a borrower, thereby
creating a corresponding deposit on the bank's
balance sheet. Lending activities can be
performed either directly or indirectly through
capital markets. Due to their importance in the
financial system and influence on national
economies, banks are highly regulated in most
countries. Most nations have institutionalized a
system known as fractional reserve banking under
which banks hold liquid assets equal to only a
portion of their current liabilities.

Candidates after 102 of any stream can take up
banking as their career, but graduates
specialized in Commerce, Mathematics or
Economics post graduates, MBA holders, Chartered
Accountants and Chartered Financial Analysts get
more preference in the field. Many of the
universities and B-schools like the Indian
Institute of Banking and Finance provide
specialized courses in Banking and Finance and
the eligibility criteria will vary depending on
the courses. Diploma courses offer practical
insights into the subjects of Banking Finance
and give candidates an exposure to the
operational processes of the modern banking
environment.

channel will be less compared to national
channels. Generally anchors in local channel get
a starting salary range of Rs.96,000- Rs.1,44,000
per annum. Once you gain experience in this field
salary can be more than Rs.3,60,000 per annum.
