create sense of euphoria Increase in blood
pressure, heart rate, respiration, blood glucose
constricts blood vessels
TREATS Narcolepsy ADD ADHD Appetite
Suppression Asthma Depression (rarely)
Due to their HIGH potential for ABUSE and
ADDICTION, the medical use is DECREASING
BUT
Taking high doses repeatedly over a short time
can lead to feelings of hostility paranoia
dangerously high body temperatures irregular
heartbeat
Can be addictive in that individuals begin to use
them compulsively
Potential for heart attacks or lethal seizures

Can Cause Drowsiness, constipation, slow

respiratory depression (slowed breathing) that
can lead to death
Chronic use can result in tolerance
