3Exit examinations
Most countries run an exit examination
(exception Scandinavia and UK).
4Type of examination
In a majority of countries, the examination is
split into two parts written (mostly MCQ) and
oral.
5Examination organisers
In a majority of countries, exit examinations are
organised by Universities. National societies,
Medical associations and Ministries of Health are
in charge in some other countries. In some
countries, examinations are organised in
collaboration between two or more of the
above-mentioned institutions.

Average number of candidates per year 29 per
country. Ranging from 2 to 150
7Examination Fees
Examination fees range from EUR 0.- to an
expected EUR 1500.- with an average of EUR 200.-

A majority of specialties run a 2-part
examination (MCQ oral examination). Some have a
written examination only, and one has an oral
examination only.

500, with an average of 195.

Total fees range from EUR 50 to EUR 950, with an
average of EUR 475.- (330.- for written
examination).
