level of care available to the general public.
The health needs of prisoners varies with the
usual health problems that people have in the
community. A number of prisoners are employed in
prison industries. We occasionally manage work

- The purpose built Christchurch Womens Hospital
and Day Surgery unit provides professional
gynaecology Services and quality care for the
women of Canterbury. The services are both acute
and non acute medical/surgical gynaecological
conditions, and oncology/gynaecology treatments
including brachytherapy and pregnancy conditions
(up to 24 weeks gestation).
