CARDIOLOGY (1)

• Rotation Emphasis small animal
• Recommended small animal or mixed animal
• Best time to take anytime
• Intern candidates summer or autumn
• Clinic Schedule 8 am to approximately 5.30 pm
  most days
• Outpatient/Inpatient large outpatient caseload,
  but 4-6 hospitalized cases per week
• Weekend Duty if cardiology cases are in the
  hospital, plus SA IM emergency schedule

• What should you expect to do
• Clinical assessment of referred and emergency
  cardiac and respiratory cases
• Additional studies of assigned readings and ECGs
• Analysis of cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing
• Receiving
• 9 am-12 pm, Monday through Thursday
• Service Specific Clinic Work Expectations
• Completion of records, referral letters,
  communications as indicated
• Assist as needed with restraint and technical
  procedures
• Interpretation of diagnostic test results
