Sons of God and Daughters of Men (61-8)

• 1. Sociologically mixed marriages. (Literary
  Interpretation) The sons of
  God are ancient dynastic rulers who seek a name
  by abusing their power. The Nephilim are tyrants.
  The daughters of men are women of non-royalty.
• 2. Angels marry human beings (Linguistic
  Interpretation)
  The sons of god are angels or divine beings
  and the daughters of men are human beings. The
  Nephilim are the "fallen ones
• 3. Sethites (Contextual Interpretation)
  The sons of God
  are descendants of Seth and the daughters are
  descendants of Cain. The Nephilim (the fallen
  ones) like those in Numbers 1331-33, were large,
  famous warriors who were looked up to by the
  people but looked down on by God.
