Phase 1 - ISRAELI-PLO

• September 1993 DOP established and PNA created.
• Rabin and Arafat sign. Mutual recognition,accept
  UN Res. 242, establish DOP including immediate
  self-rule in Gaza and Jericho for Palestinans.

Phase 2

• Gaza-Jericho Agreement signed May, 1994.Addresses
  4 main issues security arrangements, civil
  affairs, legal matters and economic relations.
  Includes an agreement for Israel to withdraw
  military forces from Gaza Jericho and transfer
  of authority from the Israelis to the Palestinian
  Authority.

Phase 3

• The Israeli-Palestinian Interim Agreement on the
  West Bank and the Gaza Strip was signed in Sept.
  1995.
• Purpose was to broaden Palestinian self-rule in
  the West Bank through an elected self-governing
  authority(Palestinian Council).In Jan. 1996
  elections were held for the Palestinian Council
  and the Head of PA.

Israel-Jordan

• Sept. 1994 King Hussein(Jordan) and Rabin signed
  the Israeli-Jordan Common Agenda. This was a
  blueprint for a peace treaty b/w the two..state
  of belligerency terminated. Both accept UN Res.
  242. Israel agrees to respect the special role
  of Jordan over holy shrines in Jerusalem.

Pending

• In Dec. 1995 Israel and Syria made a fresh start
  on a peace treaty. Issues include the status of
  the Golan Hts (taken from Syria in 67 war),
  security and water rights. 14,000 Israeli
  settlers now live in Golan Heights.
• Still not finalized.
