Title: Final Quality Control Check
1Final Quality Control Check
To be of quality, your hat must meet your
specification and the expectations of a customer.
The hat must do what it is supposed to do. If
you were to buy a hat in a shop, what would you
expect it to be like in terms of the quality of
production and the fitness for purpose?
Quality Control
Quality Control is a way of checking the quality
of a product during, or at the end of the
production process. No-one expects perfection,
but defects cost money, time and the reputation
of the company if they are allowed out of the
factory and into a shop. Manufacturers often have
inspectors at important stages of production.
The also have a final inspection stage, where
finished product is checked against set
standards. If the product fails, it must either
be rejected or reworked (the fault must be
rectified).
ACTIVITY Use the A6 check list to thoroughly
inspect your finished hat. For each check, you
must be able a tick that it is of acceptable
quality. If you are unable to tick the check,
you must rectify the fault or record why you are
unable to (eg a hat that was too small would be
rejected, while you could repair a hole in a
seam). WHEN YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR FINAL
CHECK, PIN YOUR COMPLETED CHECK LIST TO YOUR HAT.
REMEMBER TO INCLUDE YOUR NAME.
