2SLOVENIAN STUDENT UNION
- Representing interests of some 100.000 students
in the field of Higher Education - Constituted in 1994, increased its activity in
2002. - Student constitution SSU is an umbrella
organization, encompassing all students enrolled
in Slovenian institutions of higher education,
independent institutions of higher education, and
vocational colleges. (Article 3).

- In the last decade Student Work became a social
corrector in Slovenia - Prolonging studies
- Individuals continue studies (masters degree,
PhD) - Resulting in a late entry into the labour market
- Problem of over- education
- Entering labour market without formal work
experience
8PROBLEMS OF WORK EXPERIENCE
- Many Employers demand at least 2 years of formal
work experience. - SSU position non-formal and informal experience
and knowledge should be classified also
mentioned on the last European Council meeting. - THE BOLOGNA REFORM
- Emphasis on competence based teaching and
learning - Emphasis on transferable knowledge and
employability - No employability after 1st Bologna Degree!
(Consequences of changed legislation) - Employers are not informed about advantages of
Bologna reform
