home bookmarks - Project Goal The target population will be able
to state healthy lifestyle habits and/or changes
that can be implemented in their lives to prevent
obesity, poor nutrition, and sedentary lifestyles
by the end of health promotion program.
Prevent obesity and poor nutrition by promoting
healthy lifestyle habits. The youth members are
independent enough to make healthy changes on
own. Program demonstrates exercising, healthy
eating, as well as simple choices to become
healthy. Prevent unhealthy lifestyles obesity
in children prevents disease in future adults!

Club of Greater Lowell Boys Girls Club is
a non-profit organization which offers
educational, social, recreational, and cultural
programs to children and adolescents of Lowell.
- Increased rates of obesity in 4th-7th graders in
the Lowell public school system. - 38 of Lowell public school students are either
overweight or obese. - Over 20 fast-food restaurants
Future of Program
- We hope to
- Create a club at UML
- Recruit UML students
- Mentor these students to implement their own
programs at the Boys and Girls club to inspire
members to lead healthy lives!
