450,000 committed to install new fish cleaning

Point and the Hopkins River, Warrnambool. Plans

Pondage.

Snobs Creek has been identified as the preferred
site for further investigations to expand the
production of Murray cod, golden perch and trout

- 1.2 million to expand education programs through
the Marine Discovery Centre, Queenscliff. - A review of existing programs and educational
opportunities for schools and community groups is
being integrated into existing regionally based

Working with fishers to classify rivers, streams
and impoundments as either native, salmonid
or mixed fisheries. This model will be applied
across the state by June 2010 and be an important
tool for promoting Victorias inland fisheries.

Community groups can apply for -for- grants for
habitat rehabilitation works on their local
stream to benefit recreational fishing.

16Family Fishing Festivals
Held annually at Premier Lakes. Fun days when
families and kids can learn to catch a
fish. Planned and run in partnership with VRFish,
local angling clubs, shires, Fishcare volunteers
and others. Over 3000 children have participated
so far. Evaluation results prove success,
including 98 will go fishing again!

Improving angler access and facilities along

river. A major launch event being conducted for
