4What is Scrabble
Scrabble is a game where players form
interlocking words, crossword fashion on
the game board using letter tiles of different
values.
5THERE ARE 4 TYPES OF PREMIUM SQUARES
The score for the entire Word is trebled and
doubled when a tile is placed on either the Red
Square or the Pink Square respectively.
The Dark Blue Square trebles while the Light Blue
Square doubles the score of the letter placed on
it respectively.
6There are 100 tiles in the bag.
98 with values and 2 Blanks represented by all 26
letters of the alphabet. Some tiles appear more
often than others.
7How to start the game
- Each player draws a tile out from the bag to find
out who plays first. The player who has a tile
nearest to alphabet A plays first but the Blank
is given preference over the letter A. - Return the exposed tiles into the bag and each
player, in return, will then draw 7 tiles and
place them on the rack without disclosing them to
the other players.

11Challenges
- If a player feels a word played by his/her
opponent is not acceptable (unacceptable words or
wrong spelling), he/she may challenge the word.
- Should the Word Judge rule that the word is
invalid, the word will then be removed and the
player will lose his turn.
- If the word is valid, the game will continue as
normal.

19Change of Tiles
- Any player may use their turn to replace any or
all the tiles on their rack. They do so by
discarding them face down, drawing the same
number of tiles, then putting the unwanted tiles
into the bag. - The player then awaits their next turn.
- There must be not less than 7 tiles in the bag.
- A player may also pass his/her turn.

36Ending Play
- The game ends when the bag is empty and one
player has played all his tiles. You can recount
your scores if there is any dispute in the final
tally. - The game can also end when there is a deadlock
with 4 consecutive passes from both players. Each
players score is then reduced by the sum of
their unplayed tiles.
37- If you get all vowels or all consonants,
dont worry. Here are some words without vowels
or consonants.
