Introduction

• This famous entertainer was born on August 29th
  in 1958. He was born in Gary, Indiana, and was
  raised with 7 brothers and 1 sister. He was
  physically abused by his father, and had a very
  rough childhood as he grew up.

• At the age of 5 is when Michael Jackson started
  to become famous. He was the lead singer of The
  Jackson 5, which formed in 1964. Group members
  included Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and
  Michael. Their music was a mixture of RB, soul,
  pop, and later disco.

Thriller Era

• Thriller, was Michael Jacksons biggest selling
  album of all time.
  
• Thriller has later been recorded with other
  famous stars such as Kayne West and Black Eyed
  Peas.
  
• There has been an estimate of about 47-108
  million copies sold worldwide.
  
• The album made a record-breaker of 8 Grammy
  Awards in 1984.

• The famous moonwalk is still a very popular move
  as of today.
  
• Billie Jean is the inventor of the move, however
  Michael Jackson used it in all his dances, and
  made the move his signature.
  
• The first time this dance move was performed
  was in 1983 during a Television Special.

The Wiz

• Michael Jackson performed in a Broadway musical
  called The Wiz. He played as the Scarecrow.
  This was first performed by an all African
  American cast, which took place in 1978. This
  actually came to critical failure, and marked the
  end of the resurgence of African-American films
  that began with the film genre of the 1970s.

• On the15th of November he received the Diamond
  Award.
  
• Starting off the new Era in 1990, he was honored
  with Entertainer of the Decade
  
• Michael Jacksons star was set on the Hollywood
  walk of fame, in 1884.
